Source At The Presidency Hints Schools Reopen Mid-January 2021

Good news for all the private school teachers whose finances have been dangling on a thin rope since schools were closed down owing to the dreaded Covid-19 pandemic- schools resume in mid-January according to a source that spoke to GraphicOnline.

This is from the meeting Nana Akufo Addo had with the cabinet last Wednesday in a crucial meeting. Recall that Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah hinted that Prez Akufo Addo was meeting his cabinet on December 29 in a Twitter post.

“President @NAkufoAddo prepares to meet cabinet tomorrow for a final decision on the possible reopening of schools in January. Key on his agenda will be to examine the proposals for assuring the safety of our children, should schools reopen.”

“These decisions are not made lightly. But so far all his covid management decisions have been spot on. Fingers crossed, he will make the best decision in the interest of our children and our schools,” he tweeted.

President Akufo-Addo on March 15, announced the closure of all schools in the country beginning March 16, along with a ban on public gatherings when Ghana confirmed her first two positive Covid-19 cases.

The exact date has not been confirmed but it’s likely to be around January 15th forward.
