‘Turn Around’ hit maker, Nhyiraba Kojo has labeled Stonebwoy as pompous otherwise he wouldn’t have said it will take Ghana 40 years before another artist can achieve what Sarkodie, Shatta Wale and himself have achieved in the industry collectively.
Stonebwoy caused a stir when he said it will take Ghana 40 years to get artists who can replicate what he , Shatta Wale and Sarkodie have achieved while performing at the 2019 MTN 4Syte Music Video Awards.
He said: “Big up to SM, Shatta Wale my brother and Sarkodie my brother. It will take another 40 years to find me, Sarkodie and Shatta in this industry. We are national assets if you like don’t protect if you like protect.”
His comment has been condemned by musicians and other players in the industry. In reaction, Nhyiraba Kojo said in an interview with Sammy Flex that no one reigns in the music industry indefinitely just like it happens in the world of football.
“I heard Stonebwoy saying it will take forty years for the industry to have their kind…he is being pompous. Some time ago, I think that was what Nana Ampadu, Daddy Lumba, Kojo Antwi others thought when they were in their prime. But now they are not vibrant like before. I am telling you…whether they like it or not.
“Though Kojo Antwi has been releasing songs recently, it is not like we use to know him, I am not saying Kojo Antwi is weak, in music you cannot reign forever. Music is like football, no matter what you would do, your vibrancy won’t be there as always so you have to prepare towards the future,” he stated.
