Rapper, Koo Ntakra has implored the media in Ghana to help promote songs from up and coming artistes. The former MNT hit maker winner said this can be partially done if the radio presenters stop playing Sarkodie and Shatta Wale.
The artiste has struggled to establish his presence in the music industry since he won MTN hit maker season 2.
He maintained that if mainstream musicians like Sarkodie and Shatta Wale are always promoted at their expense, it makes life difficult for them.
He made this known in an interview with Eddy Blay on eTV’s The Late Night Celebrity Show.
He even suggested if it could be possible, a law should be passed to help protect their interest.
Stop playing songs from Sarkodie and Shatta Wale and play songs by upcoming artiste.
We the upcoming will take over if the likes of Sarkodie and Shatta Wale retire or are no more so of what use will it be if we are not receiving the necessary support,” he added.
A law should be passed to help the upcoming artiste because before winning MTN hit maker 2, one coca cola was all I got when I performed at weddings or parties.
