Who is Suge Knight?

Marion Hugh “Suge” Knight Jr. is a convicted felon and the co-founder and former CEO of Death Row Records in the United States. Knight is regarded as a key player in the commercial success of gangsta rap in the 1990s.

In 2018, Suge Knight received a 28-year prison term for murder that was committed voluntarily. The 56-year-old imprisoned music entrepreneur, in addition to working on Tupac’s CD, also published The Chronic for Dr. Dre in 1992 and D*ggystyle for Snoop Dogg in 1993.

He spent two years playing for the Nevada Wolf Pack team at his university before switching to the Los Angeles Rams during the 1987 NFL Players’ Strike. Hugh worked part-time as Bobby Brown’s escort and concert promoter while participating in two games with the team.

In 1989, Marion founded a music business, and he had success when Vanilla Ice gave him the rights to his popular song, “Ice Ice Baby.”

However, it was said that the artist was repeatedly hounded by Hugh’s security, compelling him to make the difficult choice. Vanilla Ice was even loosely dangled off the balcony when they were inside his hotel room.

The D.O.C, N.W.A., and DJ Quik were among the rappers that Marion later signed to his artist management organization.
