SuperM : Facts about the SM Entertainment Founded group

SuperM is a South Korean music group that is operated by SM Entertainment and Capitol Music Group. The group was formed back in 2019 and boast of some Talented members.

Facts to know about the Group

• The group consists of seven members that have been brought together from four Different SM Entertainment boy bands:
• Taemin was taken from Shinee
• Baekhyun and Kai from were also brought from Exo
• Taeyong and Mark were also from one of the SM Entertainment group called NCT 127.
• Ten and Lucas from WayV to make it a seven member team.

• The “M” in The group’s name SuperM stands for both Matrix and Master and that was because each member was already an established star in their own groups and considered as masters of the game already.
• SuperM as a group were the first Asian artist in history to top a chart with a debut release.
• In 2019, they released Their debut single, Jopping which was among Billboard’s Critics’ Picks for the “25 Best K-pop Songs of the year.
• The group is into four different genres including Kpop, Dance-pop, hip hop and R&B.

• Every member of the group came from existing boy groups under SM Entertainment.
• Before becoming high ranking members today, Baekhyun and Kai were once members of  Exo, a group they both debuted back in April 2012.
• It was Capitol Music Group chairman Steve Barnett and SM Entertainment founder Lee Soo-man who made the official announcement of the group as SuperM at Capitol Congress 2019.
