“We Have Not Rescued Kidnapped Girls”- Ghana Police Service Clarifies

The Ghana Police Administration has debunked claims that, they have rescued the three Takoradi kidnapped girls, a story which went earlier viral this week. 

In a stated released by the security agency and posted on their verified Facebook page, the Ghana police has denied and stated categorically that, they have not rescued the girls as it was earlier reported by the Daily guide newspaper.

The administration has called upon all journalists, publishers, editors and producers to be circumspect about what they report.

The Daily Guide newspaper yesterday, reported that sources within the Ghana police had informed the newspaper that, the police had rescued the kidnapped girls.

NEWS OF RESCUED TAKORADI GIRLS FALSE!

The attention of the Police Administration has been drawn to a Newspaper report in the Daily Guide edition of Wednesday April 24, 2019 titled “T’di Girls Rescued” and wish to state that the report is false and cannot be confirmed by the Police.

The Police Administration is however assuring families of the kidnapped girls and the public that we are working tirelessly with partner agencies to rescue the kidnapped girls.

Police have assigned liaison officers in Takoradi to coordinate information between Police and the families of the kidnapped girls and encourage family leadership to cooperate with the assigned officers.

Journalists, Publishers, Editors and Producers are hereby reminded to desist from publishing news without verification from authorized Police sources.
