The son of legendary musician Fela Kuti, Femi Kuti has shared his experience with some teachers while growing up as a child.
According to Femi Kuti, some of his teachers disliked him because they hated his father, Fela Kuti. He disclosed that they used to beat him for no or trivial reasons.
The saxophonist, Femi Kuti disclosed further that his memories in school were distasteful describing them as depressing as he suffered hatred from teachers.

“I later got to know they had a vendetta against my father. They have rich children in the same school and they didn’t like me because I was Fela’s son, they say your father smokes Indian hemp and I also tell them their father is a slave.”
