Tears for Dede Ayew as Swansea fails to return to the Premier League, see reactions across Africa

A lot of Ghanaians and other fans of Swansea City’s talisman, Dede Ayew have reacted to the failure of the Ghanaian captain to return to the English Premier League after his side succumbed to Brentford in the play-off final.

Brentford handed Swansea 2-0 defeat on Saturday at Wembley for the final ticket to a promotion to the EPL and Dede is more disappointed than any of his teammates considering his exploits in the Championship where his flurry of goals brought the Swans this far.

Ivan Toney and Emiliano Marcondes registered two first-half goals for The Bees, who had Ayew’s international teammate Tariqe Fosu Henry on the bench.

The defeat is a repeat of what happened in 2019-20 when Jack Army suffered a similar play-off disappointment.

‘Concerned’ fans of Dede Ayew stormed Twitter to share their thoughts on the game and we have sampled some of their views for you. See below;
