Rapper Kwaku Vincent popularly known as Strongman had the Ghanaian populace talking when his contract with SarkCess Music ended abruptly and it seems the same is about to happen to his fierce rival Teephlow who is set to leave Spyder Lee Entertainment; the record label he is currently signed unto.
According to the fante rapper in an interview with Giovani Caleb on 3FM Drive, his future with Spyder Lee Entertainment is uncertain as he plans to leave the music label once his four-year contract ends.
The Fante rapper revealed that his decision to leave is because he has some creative differences with his current label and that parting ways with them is of mutual understanding since he has had discussions with the music label.
“It has to do with a few disagreements here and there. Mainly, I think it is like two different people with two different vision – how they want things,” he said.
“Before you sign any contract, you hope that things are gonna go the way things are supposed to be; but after some time, we realized that things weren’t going towards the path it has to go,” he explained.
He further revealed that he will work with Revolve Records; a record label established by his brother and cousin.
“It is a family thing we are trying to put together,” he said.
Teephlow expressed his lack of interest in signing to existing record labels but prefers the arrangement he currently has with his family members adding that he is at a point in his career where he would rather handle things his own way.
Meanwhile, his song ‘Forgive’ featuring Adina has been nominated for the Songwriter of the Year for the upcoming Vodafone Ghana Music Award and his song ‘Preach’ has also been nominated in the Best Rapper of the Year Category.
