Before the glitz and glamour, those called celebs didn’t have life easy like Mr. Eazi. Some of our celebrities hustled on the streets in the name of daily bread. But as a far times change, some were able to make it big especially Nana Boroo.
Born name Nana Osei Bonsu but commonly known as Nana Boroo has recounted how he suffered on the streets before registering his name on the lips of Ghanaians. According to the ‘Aya Yɛdɛ’ hitmaker, he used to be selling s*x lubricants, condoms, and other s*x toys for his survival.
Speaking in an interview on Joy FM’s “Cosmopolitan Mix” show on Tuesday 17th July 2018 with Doreen Andoh, he said he never even thought of becoming popular until he met his colleague SK Blinks with whom he collaborated to release his first Track, “Aha Yɛdɛ”.
“I used to sell stuff. I was selling vibrators, condoms, lubricants, surgical cloths…Very unique yet colourful condoms. My songs took me to places, meeting people and seeing money I never thought I would see”.
He revealed the reasons why he has been off from the music scene was because he engaged himself in other businesses which did not give him enough time for his music.
“I don’t like working under pressure. I don’t even follow the trend. I wanna take time before I put my song out so I look different. I wasn’t so focused on music until last year. I won’t say my art career is over. I take time to research. I love art every day.”
