Ghanaians have begun a new hashtag which they are using to speak about the lackadaisical attitude of MPs towards the fixing of problems in their respective constituencies.

This new hashtag comes on the back of the #FixTheCountry campaign which the police has secured an injunction from the court to stop protestors from demonstrating against what they describe as untoward hardship in the country.

With the hashtag [#NameAndShame], Ghanaians have taken to social media, Twitter predominantly, to literally and figuratively name and shame Members of Parliament who have failed to fix simple problems in their constituencies.

These problems range from poor roads to flooding to economic hardship. These individuals are sharing photos of their MPs alongside photos of the problems that exist and persist in their constituencies.

They believe these MPs always come to the constituencies during the election and lie to them to fix problems in their constituencies but after they get into parliament, they ignore them and leave them to their fate.

While some argue that MPs are lawmakers and not development ambassadors, others strongly believe the MPs come to them with a message of development that convince them to vote for them thus they demand better.

Are you going to join this trend where you name and shame your MP for failing to fix the problems in your constituency or you think it does not matter?
