In the latest university ranking, the University of Cape Coast (UCC) has been highly ranked among the global universities for their research influence.
On that back of that, UCC has been ranked as the number 1 University in Ghana, the number 1 university in Africa and among the top 5 universities in Africa.
The announcement was made in the Times Higher Education annual rankings for 2022.
Universities that published high-impact research on Covid-19 have risen to the top of the rankings, with China reaping the most benefits.
The 2022 World University Rankings include over 1,600 universities from 99 countries and territories, making them the most comprehensive and diverse university rankings ever.
The table is based on 13 carefully calibrated performance indicators that assess a university’s performance in four areas: teaching, research, knowledge transfer, and international outlook.
This year’s ranking examined over 108 million citations from over 14.4 million research publications, as well as survey responses from nearly 22,000 scholars worldwide. A total of 430,000 data points were collected from over 2,100 institutions.
This year’s league table, which is trusted worldwide by students, teachers, governments, and industry experts, reveals how the Covid-19 pandemic has begun to shift global higher education performance.
