‘There was hardship in Ghana when Rawlings built the National Theatre so allow Akufo Addo to build the Cathedral’ – Ruthy fires critics

President Akufo Addo has said despite the criticisms hurled at his government for purposing to build a National Cathedral, he will still go ahead and make sure the edifice is built to the glory of God.

“…Through Christ who strengthens us, the National Cathedral will be built to the glory and honour of God. Amen!”

Recently Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams said he could not understand why Christians were the ones vociferously fighting against President Nana Akufo-Addo’s plan to build the cathedral.

Besides, peeps in Ghana’s showbiz industry have all added their voices to the national cathedral buzz, especially Blakk Rasta and Lydia Forson who believe the project should be halted in immediate effect.

However, it seems few people have started to think critically giving out logical reasons why the cathedral should be seen as a priority.

Ruthy, a highly opinionated showbiz critic, has stated categorically that even at the time the late Rawlings built the National Theater, the was serious hardship in Ghana, however, it didn’t stop Rawlings from doing the needful.

Consequently, there exists hardship in Ghana, but that alone should not stop Akufo Addo from doing the needful looking at the enormous benefits the Cathedra will bring upon completion.

As a reminder, Ghana’s president Akufo Addo on Tuesday, 6 March 2018 unveiled the design and architecture for the National Cathedral at a brief ceremony at the Accra International Conference Centre.

It would house impressive chapels and baptistery, a 5,000-capacity auditorium, grand central hall, music school, choir rehearsal and multi-purpose spaces, an art gallery, and a shop.
