Fante rapper and native of Agona Swedru Kwaw Kesse has jab the VGMA in a subtle manner suggesting that he prefers making money to submitting any of his songs to the VGMA board for recognition.
In his own words the VGMA does not yield better results hence the need to channel his energy to maximizing profit with music to cater for his family.
“I have forgotten about the VGMA. I am not submitting any music for an award. Sometimes you submit the work and the results don’t come out good. I am thinking about making lots of money to take care of my family and brand.
If VGMA gives you recognition and you don’t work your way to the top, you wil not make money…if you don’t work yourself up, forget it. I’m all about money now so I can pay the fees of my kids….” The controversial rapper said.
This year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards has been fraught with lots of controversies and we will not be surprised if lots of artistes stay away from the ceremony.
