Beautiful sultry singer and member of Marvin Records, Tiwa Savage granted an exclusive interview to CNN where she revealed how it all began musically. She recounted the skepticism surrounding her talent and the difficulty in finding music producers to invest in her.
Tiwa was born in Los Angeles in the United State of America. She said her decision to come to Nigeria to do music was influenced by the strong she felt for her root.
“When I first moved to Nigeria, I got a lot of people discouraging me about being a female artist, and a lot of people didn’t want to invest money or time because they didn’t think I was lucrative, female artists are huge in other parts of the world. It shouldn’t be different in Africa,” she said.
She also noted that her talent was already blossoming and people acknowledged it in US and UK so it boosted her confidence which made her realised she could make an impact back in her homeland.
Tiwa Savage is currently is in US ahead of the Grammys on Sunday February 13, 2017. She has already joined the likes of Jay Z, Sean Combs, DJ Khalid for the Roc Nation Pre-Grammy Brunch at a private residence in Los Angeles, California.
