Today marks exactly a year after the sudden passing of highlife musician Kofi B

ON February 2, 2020, Ghanaians were hit with the news of the sudden passing of Ghanaian highlife crooner Kofi Boakye Yiadom aka Kofi B.

Ace High life musician, Kofi Boakye Yiadom, popularly known as Kofi B has passed on.

Kofi B had hits like, Koforidua flowers, Yaw Dompre, Mo bro was, Bantama Kofi Boakye just to mention a few.

The cause of the sudden death of the musician is yet to be known but according to Okay Fm’s Instagram page, a credible source revealed the demise of the ace High Life musician.

This news broke the heart of many music-loving Ghanaians who usually found solace in the rich content of Kofi B’s songs. The cause of his death was not immediately known but it was later revealed.

His good friend and colleague Kofi Nti said the late Kofi B started complaining of chest pains and unusual heartbeats right after he had a show in Cape Coast on Saturday evening right to Sunday at dawn.

Kofi B was consequently rushed to the Cape Coast government hospital where he was kept on oxygen and given some injections since he had a respiratory problem.

The following day, Kofi B’s family broke silence on his death and the entire nation was thrown int a frenzy.

Allegations upon allegations erupted with many alleging that highlife musician Ofori Amponsah was responsible for Kof B’s death. Many celebrities and industry players paid their tributes to him and it was discovered that he died on the birthday of his daughter. Sad!

There was a one-week commemoration, Kofi B’s body was kept at the morgue for months over some internal family wranglings and was finally laid to rest at his hometown Akyem Agogo on November 7 2020.

Some of the popular songs Kofi B made are Yaw Dompre, Koforidua Flowers, Mmobrowa, Afia Donkor, Bantama Kwesi Boakye, Belinda amongst others.

His contribution to Ghana music can not be underestimated. Rest In Peace.
