Kelsey Harris, the former best friend of Megan Thee Stallion, testified once more during the Tory Lanez 2020 shooting trial.
When questioned by the prosecution on December 15 about an interview she had with police in September, Kelsey identified Tory as the shooter; yet, when she took the stand, she insisted she couldn’t recall and pleaded guilty to the 5th degree.
Prosecutors played the recording for the jury on Friday, December 16. At the September interview, Kelsey admitted to accusing Tory of shooting Megan. Tory allegedly threatened to shoot her, she added. According to Rolling Stone’s report on the tape, Kelsey
“He said, ‘My n*gga, I’ll shoot you,” she continued, “He said that to me, and he reached like he was going to grab something, reached toward the middle console, but he never pulled anything.” Also, in the recording, Kelsey said (to Tory), “If you shoot me, you shoot me, I guess it’s my time to go,” according to Law & Crime’s Meghann Cuniff.
According to Kelsey, after the shooting, she said,
“I get out of my side and no sooner do you know, you start hearing gunshots going off. I looked up maybe about the second or third gunshot. You see Tory, he’s now in the front seat. I guess he must have jumped over in a smooth transition and he’s leaning over the door.”
Hot97 reports that Tory Lanez pleaded not guilty; if convicted, he faces 22 years.
