Donald Trump, Former President of the United States of America has hinted at launching his own social media platform after he was banned on various platforms in 2020.
He’s looking at launching his platform dubbed, “Truth Social” in 2022 under his tech company Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG) as he hopes to compete with other social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter.
Trump’s app announcement came up after months of speculation that the former president would be setting his platform after big techs like Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube placed a ban on him for not using their platforms by their policies and guidelines.
TMTG statement issued had the former president showing his aversion to the ban placed on him adding that Taliban and other terrorist groups have social media presence but he’s been banned saying he’s putting an end to “the tyranny of Big Tech”.
TMTG also has plans to take on services such as Netflix and payment services such as Stripe with another aim of competing with Amazon and Google’s Alphabet by launching cloud features.
