Disturbing reports coming from multiple sources online indicate that the former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan has been involved in a fatal accident that left two of his security aides dead.
The incident reportedly occurred on Wednesday evening while he was heading home from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
An aide who confirmed the sad development to Leadership said the ex-president was fine and unhurt.
From the information we sighted on CorrectNG, the former president described the incident as a painful one, and added that the sudden death of the two security details has thrown him into deep mourning.
It was also learnt that he and his wife, Patience Jonathan visited the emergency unit of the National Hospital, Abuja to see victims of the accident.
