Ghanaian Hiplife musician, Kontihene has disclosed that he couldn’t complete his degree at the nation’s premier university, years ago because he was sacked for poor academic performance.
Kontihene told Kleff on Hitz Fm’s Daybreak Hitz show that he was dispelled because he couldn’t meet the university’s required academic performance but managed to later finish his degree at the Humpton University.
“I have a degree in Business Administration. Humpton University; I was dispelled from Legon some time back. I travelled for a show. When I returned I had failed miserable,” he said.
Kontihene who is known in real life as Emmanuel Nana Appiah Boateng posited on the show that, academic excellence was material and that for him, he enjoys doing music. Kontihene who comes from a rich family background also mentioned on the show that, he even sees his family’s rich background as material.
“Having money doesn’t make you rich. Having a sound mind and a peaceful mind makes you a rich guy. My blessing is having a peace of mind. That’s what life has given me,” he noted.
We remember Konithene when he made his break into the music scene in Ghana back in 2000 with his song ‘Nyankonton’. That song won him several awards at the Ghana Music Awards that year.
