Najib Umar Shehu, a 200-level student of the Federal University, Dutsinma (FUDMA) has been arrested by the police for killing his 60-year-old stepmother, Asiya Mohammed.
Per the report shared by Instablog9ja, the suspect had a misunderstanding with the victim — a retired civil servant — on August 18, 2022, and attacked her with a p€stle at their residence in Ambassador Quarters.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Isah Gambo, in a statement on Thursday, August 25 highlighted the sad report saying: “He went into the kitchen, grabbed a p€stle, hit her severally with it on her head and as a result of which she sustained head injuries and was confirmed dead by a medical doctor.
In the spur of the moment, suspect also hit his father severally with the said p€stle on his leg and sustained fracture into different places on his leg.
Suspect has been arrested and confessed to the commission of the offence. The said pestle has been recovered as exhibit. Investigation is ongoing.”
