Ever Since three girls went missing in Takoradi some months ago, their friends, relatives, organisations and other individuals have held protests to mount pressure on the Police for their rescue. And the latest person to join the bandwagon of protesters is actor and comedian, Clemento Suarez.
Suarez has sworn not to mount any stage or stand before any camera to act until the three kidnapped girls are found, whether dead or alive.
And he does not mind doing that although he knows it might cause him financially as his means of livelihood would be on the line.
“I have decided not to act again after tonight’s play, Adam In Court because of the kidnapped Takoradi girls. After tonight’s play, that will be it.
“I will not feature in any play or movie until they are found” he told Akwasi Aboakye on Entertainment Review on Peace FM on Saturday, June 22 2019 when he went to the station to promote his latest play, Adam In Court which was being staged that night at the National Theatre.
According to Clemento Suarez, he cannot pretend all is well and make people laugh while other families grieved over their loved ones who have been missing for months.
“I make people laugh alright but what about the families having sleepless nights because of their loved ones who have been kidnapped. The situation has to be attended to with serious attention” he added.
He also took his Instagram page to make the announcement.
Since 2011, Clemento Suarez has been cast in many plays including Gallery of Comedies, Thank God for Idiots, Romantic Nonsense, Sweet Dreams and Nightmares, What Can Come Can Come and Flagstaff House.
The rest are Mallams and Pastors, I Can’t Think Far, Dinner for Promotion, Blue Black, Prison Graduates, Ama 2G, Ladder, You Play Me, I Play You, Bukom, Upstairs and Downstairs and the most recent,The Inspection.
He has also featured in TV series such as Master and 3 Maids, Yellow Cafe and Wofa Kay and starred in movies such as Could this be Love? Royal Diadem and Keteke.
