Few days ago, Ghbase.com published a viral news that renowned Ghanaian pastor cum politician, Osofo Kyiri Abosom has selected Bishop Daniel Obinim as his running mate.
In the said publication, we attached a video which shows the two men of God converging at Obinim’s God’s Way International Church to rousing welcome, giving the impression that he has chosen the controversial man of God to be his running mate for his newly formed Ghana Union Movement (GUM) party ahead of 2020 elections.
In a new development however, Osofo Kyiri Abosom has said in a radio interview on Citi FM that he wants to select a mallam as running so he has even consulted the chief Imam to be given one.
“My running mate will be a Muslim. I want a Muslim who also has a fear of God in him; a Mallam. I just want people who have the fear of God in them. I don’t know any Mallam but I have given it up to the Muslim community and the Chief Imam. I’ve visited him and told him that so they will get somebody for me,” he stated.
A Mallam is an honorific title given to Islamic scholars in Africa.
