"Use your thumb and not the arms" – Shatta Wale calls for peace ahead of December 7 polls

Ghanaian dancehall artiste Charles Nii Armah Mensah aka Shatta Wale is preaching peace as Ghana prepares to go to the polls on Monday, December 7 2020.

In multiple peace messages shared on social media, Shatta Wale cautioned the youth to be vigilant and eschew from practising violence influenced by their affiliation to a particular political party.

The SM Boss said both John Mahama and President Akufo-Addo are very good friends who irrespective of their political differences do not resort to the exchange of fisticuffs thus it is prudent for every Ghanaian to know that destroying Ghana’s peace is not worth it.

He wrote:

Both @NAkufoAddo and @JDMahama are good friends, why should you allow yourself to be influenced to create confusion in the country due to elections? Think twice ghetto youth. The future is in your hands, use your THUMB, not the ARMS, be wise and vote in peace. #SM4Peace

Meanwhile, there are a number of Ghanaian celebrities who have thrown their weights behind their preferred political candidate ahead of the polls.
