It seems the biggest regret in the life of Leila Djansi, American-based Ghanaian Filmmaker, has to do with the fact that she is an African by birth and descent.

In the voice of the above-named filmmaker, her African accent is preventing her from winning Oscars else she would have had their plaques as winner long time considering her magnificent works.

Consequently, she was forced to change her accent to aide her career. In a footage available to ghbase.com, Leila Djansi explained that the moment people hear someone has an African accent, they immediately begin to doubt the capabilities of the person.

“Look if my accent was British, I probably have won mainstream Oscars already but because my accent is African,” she said. The award-winning filmmaker also advised actors and actresses who want to cross borders to also try to learn foreign accents because that will be beneficial to their careers.
