Nigerians are roasting their president on social media after he made an error pronouncing Covid-19 while he was addressing his country for the first time since cases of coronavirus surfaced in Nigeria.
On Sunday- March 22, 2020 a short video surfaced on the internet which saw Buhari telling Nigerians how his government is curbing the menace.
“We are working with the Federal Ministry of Health on protecting our citizens from #COVID-19. As a government, this is now a key priority for us.
“I therefore enjoin you to ensure that adequate medical provisions and other welfare requirements are afforded,” he said before the clip abruptly ended.
Social media users have since been mocking him and it’s funny the way they are going about it.

When I said @MBuhari might not be aware of COVID-19, some thought I was joking. Hear him now. He read out 23 seconds on it from a script calling it “COVIK ONE NINE VIRUS”. And his Personal Assistant is SO excited that his boss has murmured three sentences on COVID.#Buhari pic.twitter.com/SfvpdIuQz7

I told my family and friends on Facebook that Buhari can not cope with that office.
A man that can't pronounce Covid-19 properly is not fit to be president.@FemAdesina @GarShehu @ShehuSani @ShehuZubair https://t.co/bnE5YUOIDt

Buhari should have put Nigeria on lockdown 2 weeks ago but he did nothing.
He isn’t even aware there’s such thing called Covikk one nine virus. Now Nigeria may have to grapple with an epidemic far worse than what Italy is going through.
Pray for Nigeria ?? ??

President Buhari finally speaks on the Covid19 endemic and it was utterly disappointing.
