Ghanaian music duo, R2Bees made up of Mugeez and Omar Sterling has finally explained why their song ‘Eboso’ sounds like Ofori Amponsah’s ‘Asew’.

R2Bees recently released a single off their latest album, ‘Back 2 Basics’ and the moment the song went viral, many were of the view that the song and its melodies sound more like that of Ofori Amponsah’s ‘Asew’.

Truth to be told, the song really sounds like Ofori’s ‘Asew’ with the lyrics and dictions sounding similar.

In an interview with Ghana Weekend, R2Bees explained that they have taken inspiration from so many songs and mentioned songs like ‘Kiss Your Hand’ and ‘Slow Down’ which they got inspiration from Wande Coal’s ‘Bumper 2 Bumper’ and Kojo Antwi’s ‘Daddy Anoma’.

According to them, their song ‘Eborso’ sounds like Ofori Amponsah’s ‘Asew’ and they won’t shy away from the fact that they took to inspiration from the song.

They also mentioned that there are no copyright issues on the table as they’ve spoken to Ofori Ampnsah.
