Vitamilk Ghana as part of it’s Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSRs) has taken care of the cost of helping some Ghanaians to undergo hip replacement surgeries.
A-list actress Yvonne Nelson, former skipper of the Black Stars, Stephen Appiah and Highlife artiste, Kwabena Kwabena visited the patients after their surgery to interact and motivate them at the St. Joseph’s Hospital and donated some Vitamilk products.
Hip replacement surgery is a procedure in which a doctor surgically removes a painful hipjoint with arthritis and replaces it with an artificial joint often made from metal and plastic components. It usually is done when all other treatment options have failed to provide adequate pain relief. Severe arthritis wears down the bone resulting in stiffness, pain, and limited range of motion hip pain or fracture in hip joint, therefore, the replacement of joints is required.
Over a period of five years Vitamilk under its flagship Child Malnutrition Foundation partnered with a team of astute Surgeons from abroad to embark on the Operation Walk Campaign. The Campaign is focused on providing free hip replacement for the residents of Koforidua, the campaign has recorded about 46 successful hip replacement Surgeries.
Speaking at a Press briefing the CEO of Vitamilk Ghana, Mr. Emmanuel Anane expressed his excitement to be part of a benevolent which is in line with their core values. He also reiterated that management of Vitamilk in consultation with other medical teams will provide free eye care service to deserving Ghanaians in the future.
The celebrities also expressed their excitement to be part of this worthy course undertaken by Vitamilk and pledged their utmost support to the campaign.
The patients who benefited from Vitamilk’s generosity have expressed their gratitude to the company.
