Musician and BBNaija season 5 winner, Laycon has been given a chieftaincy title in the Ipokia Kingdom of the Ogun State in Nigeria.
His chieftaincy title is the ‘Akeweje of Ipokia kingdom’ in the state of Ogun.
The title was conferred on Laycon by the Onipokia of Ipokia, Oba Yisa Adesola Olaniyan, at the 2021 Opo Day celebration held at the District High School, Ipokia where his mother schooled according to him.

The overly excited Laycon shared a snippet of the moment the chieftaincy title was conferred on him on social messaging site, Twitter.
He will now be addressed as Chief Olamilekan Agbeleshe Akeweje Odo of the Ipokia Kindom.
It is a norm in Africa to honour hard-working sons of communities with chieftaincy titles in recognition of their work and achievements, and Laycon is the latest to join the bandwagon after his BBNaija exploits.
This is intended to motivate the youth to work hard as they know their hard work won’t go unnoticed.
At the conferment of the title on him, Oba Olaniyan described the reality TV star as a good ambassador to Ipokia and a positive inspiration to all Nigerian youth.
