We Used “Minimum” Force After He Tried To Resist Arrest – The Police Finally Speak About Funny Face’s Arrest

The Central Regional Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Police Service, DSP Irene Oppong has finally explained in details the reason Ghanaian comic actor, Benson Nana Yaw Boateng, popularly called Funny Face was apprehended in a “rambo” style.

Speaking exclusively on Peace FM’s ‘Entertainment Review’ show with Akwasi Aboagye, DSP Irene Oppong said that the police officers arrested Funny Face after a drinking bar  owner came to report that Funny Face fired warning shots at his spot after he lost the battle in a fistfight.

Madam Irene furthered that, per the report they had, Funny Face decided to discharge the firearms in the air to save his ego after the bartender he fought with gave him dirty slaps which lead to his arrest.

She however made it empathically clear that Funny Face was not the only one arrested but the bartender who allegedly gave Funny Face the dirty slaps has also been arrested and the whole issue is been thoroughly investigated.

When Kwesi Aboagye asked about hos Funny Face was mercilessly beaten by the police, the PRO indicated that it was an issue that was still in contention because the police officers who went to arrest him say they only used ‘minimum force’ after he tried to resist.
