We Will Not Call Off Strike Until Our Demands Are Met – TEWU to Government

The Teachers and Educational Workers Union (TEWU) embarked on an indefinite strike on  Wednesday, January 13 2021 to push for an improvement in working conditions.

The Government of Ghana has made an attempt to please them by proposing an 8% increase in their basic allowance. However, the University of Ghana chapter the Union feels insulted by this due to the fact that, increments of higher percentages were offered to their colleagues in the other unions.

Kenneth Botchway, the chairman of UG local has made it clear that the TEWU will not call of the strike until the Government accedes to their demands.
