To “fear God” or “fear the Lord” is a common instruction from the Bible given to us as humans. We, the people of the Lord must comprehend the need and see the importance of this message to us. We won’t be set free from any harmful or satanic doom unless we sincerely fear the Lord and do His will in truth and willingness.
We can avoid falling into the trap of doing things our own way, disobeying God, and succumbing to the seductive temptations of immoral action by having fear of God. This extract from the Holy Bible tells us to fear the Lord for our own good.
“These are the commands, the decrees and laws the Lord your God directed me to teach you to observe in the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess, so that you, your children and their children after them may fear the Lord your God as long as you live by keeping all His decrees and commands that I give you, and so that you may enjoy long life.” — Deuteronomy 6:1-2
What Does It Means To Fear God?
According to the Bible, fearing God deals with submitting yourself to the Lord in absolute fear and adoration. Truthfully submitting yourself before the Lord and doing His will is what is also known as fear of Him.
But because God is a loving Father and a good provider, we put our faith in His promises. We are confident that if we have confidence in Him, follow Him, and obey His instructions, He will bless us rather than harm us.

Why Must We Fear God?
It is factual that, our Lord is a loving God and all-powerful too. Just as Roman 12:22 tells us to put God’s “kindness and sternness” into consideration for He is kind to those He loves those who obey His words and commands. However, for those who go against his words, His wrath will surely prevail.
