Keeler earned academic All-Mountain West recognition and had a pre-business GPA of 3.80. He was selected Rebel of the Week on February 12 by Odom as the club was on their offseason training regimen.
Keeler, a student and football player at UNLV, went dead on February 20, 2023, a Monday. His passing was confirmed by the university.
Ryan Keeler’s cause of death was not mentioned in the school’s statement. The spokeswoman for the school might not be aware of what led to his demise. In the seven games he played for UNLV in 2022 before his passing, Keeler amassed eight tackles and his first career sack.

His school shared the devastating news of his death on social media saying;
“We are devastated to have lost a member of our Rebel family,” said first-year UNLV football head coach Barry Odom. “While I had the honour of knowing Ryan for only a couple of months, he already stood out to our coaching staff as an incredible person, student, and teammate. Our condolences and prayers go out to Ryan’s family as we grieve along with them over this tremendous loss.”
