“When did you realize there were mistakes in the results you declared on 9th December ” – Lawyer Tsatsu Tsikata questions EC Boss in Supreme Court [Videos]

Lead counsel for John Mahama for the election petition case in the Supreme Court gave the Electoral Commission boss Jean Mensa a hard time in court today.

Tsatsu-Tsikata who is considered one of the legal geniuses in Ghana consistently demanded answers from the EC boss which were never forthcoming.

According to one of his submission, the indefatigable lawyer asked the EC boss to tell the Supreme Court when he realized the 2020 election results was inundated with mistakes. A question that left the EC boss rooted to her seat while she looked to her legal representatives to provide answers.

The genesis of this petition in the Supreme Court arose from the periodic and consistent changing of election numbers after the declaration of the 2020 presidential election results by Madam Jean Mensa on December 9 2020.

This led to several speculations and rumours that the EC was probably in bed with the governing NPP and perhaps twig the election numbers in their favour.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has dismissed the application by the presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2020 election petition, which sought to ask it to grant leave for the Electoral Commission (1st respondent) to answer 12 questions regarding the declaration of the presidential election results.
