What Happened to Felicia Franklin?
In September, Felicia Franklin was discovered unconscious by emergency personnel on the sidewalk in front of the 404 Sports Bar and Grill in Morrow, Georgia.
The horrifying bodycam footage from September that captured the incident was recently made public. Felicia Franklin, the vice chair of the Clayton County Board of Commissioners, is seen by police in the video outside a sports bar.
After that, she is put into an ambulance and acts irrationally while the doctors tend to her, thrashing around and screaming.
While Felicia Franklin claimed to have only had a glass of wine and a cocktail, police revealed in a video interview conducted a few days after the event that they had proof she drank five drinks.
Franklin stated that she endured a “deeply personal and troubling experience” and that she had been spiked with date rape medication.
However, authorities have refuted her story, stating that she tested positive for alcohol and cannabis and that there was no evidence of the substance in her system. Additionally, footage from inside the sports bar showed Franklin dancing and receiving drinks.
Felicia Franklin Relieved of Her Vice Chair Duties
After the incident came to light, she was subsequently relieved of her Vice Chair duties, but she is still a county-elected official.
On September 29, Franklin was found unconscious outside of the 404 Sports Bar and Grill in Morrow, Georgia. She had been at an event that evening.
Felicia Franklin can be heard sobbing and screaming on police bodycam footage, even yelling, “I don’t know what they gave me,” at one point before starting to scream and curse at the medical staff.
She became more aggressive, and the staff had to hold her hands and strap her to an ambulance bed.
She also begged them to get her mother at other times, yelling at them to “get the f*** out of my face.”
“I don’t give a f***, get him out of my face,” the woman yelled in response to an officer telling her, “ma’am, you’re about to go to jail.”
After a while, ambulance workers are able to get her to the hospital, where she is put to bed and starts to cry even more for her mother.
Felica Franklin’s friend can be heard on the video stating that she was taking medication for a sinus infection and had been sick recently.
The video speaks for itself, according to Chairman Jeff Turner, who announced Franklin’s removal from her vice chair post on October 23 following its release.
‘The video spoke for itself. What more can we say?” Jeff Turner asked, adding, ‘We represent the citizens of Clayton County, and we have to make sure we present ourselves in a way that our citizens are going to be proud of us.’
Felicia Franklin Opines It Was Illegal To Vote Her Out
Franklin allegedly declared that the motion to remove her was illegal during the meeting and declared her intention to seek the position of board chairwoman.
Felicia Franklin posted on Facebook: ‘Today two of my political opponents are holding a special called meeting to replace me as Vice Chair of the board with another commissioner.
‘This move by them, will free up more of my time a month early so that I can fully commit to becoming elected to the Chairman’s seat so that we can finally move our county forward.’
In the days after the incident, Felicia Franklin said she had a ‘very traumatic and unfortunate experience’, posting on Facebook: ‘It is believed by medical professionals that I was drugged with a GHB pill, more commonly known as the “date rape pill,” and this incident has shaken me to my core.
‘I will be working closely with authorities to ensure that justice is served, and I will also be advocating for improved safety measures at events like these.
‘No one should have to go through what I experienced, and I want to thank all of you for your support during this challenging time.’
