Many people are searching to know who Mattew Mason is; the suspect who killed a 15-year-old boy called Alex Rodda.
Who is Mattew Mason?
A millionaire farmer’s son and murderer, Matthew Mason. He brutally murdered a 15-year-old Alex Rodda, he was only 18 at the time.
On December 12, 2019, Mason murdered Alex, a student, in a secluded Cheshire forest. Churchgoer Matthew claimed he committed the crime out of concern that Alex would reveal the couple’s sexual relationship.
Prior to beating him in “cold blood,” the murderer seduced his victim under the “pretense of sexual activity.”.
Alex was discovered partially clothed by trash collectors after he was reported missing. In October 2019, Mason, who was a farmer living on a farm close to Knutsford with his parents, started messaging Alex.
The texts soon turned sexual, and Mason sent the Year 11 student an explicit image and video while intoxicated.
On November 3, 2019, Alex sent a message to Mason’s two-year girlfriend threatening to post the messages online.
On November 23, 2019, Mason had paid Alex $2,020 because he was “embarrassed about what had happened” after Alex had asked him for £50 to stop him from posting a screenshot of the pornographic messages on social media.
Mason conned the teen into meeting him in the woods the evening he killed Alex.
Then, in a “brutal and merciless” attack, he repeatedly beat Alex with a wrench, dealing the schoolboy at least 15 blows to the head.
Then, despite the fact that Alex could see the monster breathing, it abandoned him to die in the woods.
Mason visited friends in two pubs, cleaned up at a friend’s house, and posted a selfie from one of them to “lay the groundwork” for an alibi. He also went to two other pubs to visit friends. Hours later, he went back to the forest to move Alex’s body.
Who is Alex Rodda?
The 15-year-old student, an openly gay young man, attended Holmes Chapel High School and was a well-liked young man.
It was a thrilling journey of self-discovery for Alex to figure out who he was.
Although he was only 15 years old, his naivete made him fatally vulnerable to a teen who was a few, important years his senior.
Online, Alex and Matthew Mason, who was 18 at the time, began a covert relationship. Before things got sexual, Matthew Mason started sending Alex explicit pictures.
Alex was a friendly, outwardly gay man from Pickmere, Knutsford. Mason was an outdoorsy, farmer’s son from a wealthy, religious family who had dropped out of high school and was now enrolled in college. He was also quiet.
Where is Mattew Mason now?
Following the discovery of Alex’s body, police detained Mason and discovered dried blood on his hands and fingers as well as the blood-stained weapon in his car.
Despite admitting hitting the Holmes Chapel High School student at least 15 times, the assailant claimed he was acting in self-defense after Alex struck him first.
Mason received a life sentence with a minimum of 28 years in prison in January 2021 for the murder.
The Court of Appeal lowered his sentence to a minimum of 26 years in June of that same year.
Prior to Mason’s initial sentencing, Alex’s father Adam Rodda made a moving victim impact statement in which he admitted he had “struggled not to take [his] own life to be with Alex.”.
