Why are the male artistes running away from collaborating with the females? – the case of Abyna Morgan, eShun, AK Songstress, et Al.

The Ghana music industry is male-dominated terrain and perhaps not the place for ladies as the hurdles they’ve to pass before making it big especially in the area of collaboration is as difficult as the Ghana cedis catching up with the dollars. Lol

This is because there have been several instances where some female musicians have recalled the difficulties they encountered in their quest to get their favourite male artistes to bless them with some bars or if you like accept their collaboration appeal.

Historically, AK Songstress somewhere last year came out openly to voice that a male artiste she approached for a collaboration requested for s3kxual bout else there will be no collaboration. Although she failed to name and shame the male act in mind.

Early this year, Songstress Abyna Morgan who’s well-known for “Tsi Ohe” vibe took to her Instagram page to call-out rapper Kwesi Arthur. According to Abyna Morgan in the post in question, all attempt made to reach out to the Tema-based rapper for a purposeful collaboration has proved futile.

And most recently, Songstress eShun also detailed the stress she has passed through over the years just to have Ghana’s finest contemporary rapper, Sarkodie to bless her with a verse. According to eShun, she has contacted all the big guys around Sarkodie yet no fruitful results.

So, it’s in this light that we ask, why are the male artistes running away from collaborating with the females? Is it because of ungratefulness on the part of the ladies or the men are afraid of being unseated by the females when given the chance?

We don’t want to conclude on anything for now but will leave fair judgement in your hands which will help us in the subsequent publication about this matter.
