William Anderson is an American football outside linebacker for the Alabama Crimson Tide. He has won several awards during his time with Alabama, including the Lombardi Award and the Bronko Nagurski Trophy twice.
He was born on September 2, 2001, in Hampton, Georgia. He attended Dutchtown High School, where as a senior in 2019, he earned 22 sacks and 15 tackles for loss. Anderson participated in the 2020 All-American Bowl and was selected for The Atlanta Journal-“Super Constitution’s 11” team. Anderson chose Alabama as his college football home.
In 2020, Anderson was selected as the outside linebacker starter. He finished with 7 quarterback sacks and 10.5 tackles for loss as the Crimson Tide won the 2021 College Football Playoff National Championship, earning him a spot on the second team of the SEC.
After compiling 17.5 sacks and 34.5 tackles for loss, both of which were tops in the country, as a sophomore in 2021, Anderson received the Bronko Nagurski Trophy, was named the SEC Defensive Player of the Year, and was unanimously selected as an All-American.
