Gringo hitmaker, Shatta Wale trended for the wrong reasons in 2017 when he threw shots at Nigerian music sensation, Wizkid without any provocation.
Shatta Wale claimed he doesn’t see anything special in Wizkid so it beats his imagination that he prides himself as an icon or a superstar.
Here’s what he said:
We are living a life where upcoming youths are watching people get surprised by my achievement because they don’t have a mind to elevate themselves.
I don’t see Wizkid to be too much for me but most of my Ghanaians and Ghanaian colleagues see him like that.
But I want Wizkid to see me and be like wow not otherwise because what is talking is your pocket, property, investment.
I don’t see anything extraordinary about him, even though he claims to the be best African artiste.
These words sparked an unprecedented war on social media between Ghana and Nigeria to the extent that Ghana’s president, Nana Akufo Addo was dragged into the fray by the uncouth Nigerians.
Interestingly, Wizkid never responded to the issue until yesterday (May 8) when he was unveiled as one of the headline artistes for the 2018 edition of Ghana Meets Naija concert.
In phone interview with the organizers, the Come Closer hitmaker said, “I want to say shout out to Shatta Wale,” he said, laughed and dropped the call.
We hope Shatta Wale won’t misquote him to start another war again.
