Wutah Afriyie Reveals Why The Group Will Not Come Back

Wutah, the group that trilled Ghanaians with their unique repertoire years ago will not be reuniting anytime soon according to Wutah Afriyie. However the closest their fans will come to relishing the group in their full splendour is when they perform at the Rhythms On Da Runway show on Saturday April 1.

Wutah Afriyie revealed this when he spoke with Showbiz. He said: “Only time will tell if there will be any permanent projects from the two of us”, said Wutah Afriyie, who is working on a number of solo projects.

Speaking about whether the duo will only be performing a repertoire of the old classics or might release surprise collaboration, Afriyie asked fans to keep their fingers crossed.
“I will leave that for patrons at the venue to find out. If I tell you everything, I will be giving away the element of surprise. However be rest assured that there is definitely going to be a surprise for fans on that day,” he said.

He gave the assurance that although the group split six years ago they still have what it takes to excite their fans. “People will really love to see us perform together and it will be something worth their time and money. With music, unlike other professions, the older you get the wiser you become.

“Fans should expect a lot of energy from us at the event. It has been about seven years since they last saw us together but I can assure them that the passion and spirit has just gotten better over time,” he added.

Wutah burst into the limelight when they placed second to Praye in the maiden edition of Nescafe Africa Revelation music competition. They went their separate ways somewhere in 2011 much to the bewilderment of their fans and connoisseurs.

Their song, Big Dreams happens to be one of the best songs ever to have originated from Ghana. We just hope they will patch-up their differences for the enhancement of the industry because they have been very feeble since they broke up.
