Grime rapper and CEO of London-based Ghanaian bakery Uncle John’s, Samuel Mensah, popularly known as Xploder has passed away from COVID-19.
Apart from presenting the podcast ‘Dope Black Dads’, he was featured on Mission Riddim together with his brother D Dark, Lady Lykez, Roachee, Scrufizzer, Zeph Ellis and Maxsta. He was also on D Dark’s Be Smart Remix with Ms Banks and Scrufizzer which are all grime tracks.
His popular bakery which shared free loaves of bread to NHS workers in the midst of the pandemic was featured in Forbes’ list of 30 black-owned businesses to support in 2021, The Guardian, Vice, Seasoned Buzzfeed, and Melan Mag.
Following his demise, his colleagues in the music industry aw well as his fans took to Twitter to send their well wishes to his family.
