Yaa Pono explains why he uses profane lyrics in his songs

Songs with profane lyrics have been in existence as long as I can remember. Current crop of musicians are fond of it whiles the veteran musicians also used them in their song, they always had a way to frame it to sound nicer than what we hear nowadays.

Though it’s looked down as not radio-friendly, some current musicians thrive on it to be relevant.

Tema-based rapper, Yaa Pono who has long been known for using profane words in his songs has said it’s a fun thing he loves to do anytime he steps to the mic to spit bars.

In an interview with Happy FM’s DJ Adviser on the Ayekoo After Drive Show, the ‘Gbee Nabu’ crooner noted that it’s fun to use profane lyrics in songs.

He said “Music is all about fun. Profanity is also fun. Sometimes, you must polish your profanity and use it in music”.

Yaa Pono is set to release a new album dubbed “Up Next Collection” which he says will “come as a thief in the night” before December this year.
