Shatta Wale, in a fresh statement regarding his posture about the Play Ghana initiative, has labelled Samini as a legend.

The SM boss clarified that he does not oppose the initiative itself but emphasized the importance of all musicians and stakeholders involved in taking responsibility to ensure that the DJs can sustain the momentum.

He told Samini on Twitter thus:

“My legend ,you just have to know we are too grown now to bullshit the agenda .Nothing is wrong if creatives are on that path but the question is : Do the creative themselves play their roles well to make these DJ’s play your songs ..BIG NO !! ,WHY ? Don’t pretend like you don’t know the problem do that’s why today they don’t even listen to the great samini when he talks…I am not here to rubbish your efforts neither do I want my ways to be accepted but “THERE IS A BIG PROBLEM MY LEGEND “ and you know it . I say this with a good heart 🙏 Love ❤️”

A previous post uploaded by captured Samini begging Shatta Wale to stop talking as he has nothing worthwhile to add to the current Play Ghana initiative, which Wale has angrily refused to support and has made disparaging remarks about.

To voice his disapproval of the campaign, Shatta Wale tagged Samini and underlined how unworkable the strategy is.

Samini responded by outlining his position and admonishing Wale to hold off on speaking if he had nothing useful to say in support of their cause. It is important to note that, based on its tone, Samini’s message did not contain any derogatory words.

“How can you say you deh ban foreign music. Eeiiiiiii… We know how to Ban papa. Small time dem go ban Foos for kantamanto,” Shatta Wale’s post on X read.

Another post on X read; “I just woke up to tell you ,you can’t fight foreign music .Their 10% music will over-shadow the whole Ghana. Country with so much jealousy when it’s not them on the frontline. You see how poverty deh worry your artiste with nonesense suggestion .It’s poverty my guy.”
