You can’t become president by using lies and deception – Prez. Akufo-Addo reacts to Mahama’s claim of starting free SHS

President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo has reacted to earlier claims by former President John Mahama that he started Free SHS way back in 2015.

According to the president, it is a show of dishonesty for the NDC flagbearer to claim he implemented a policy he strongly criticized and rubbished.

Speaking to party supporters at a mini-rally at Odorkor in Accra today, President Akufo-Addo said Mahama should give credit to him for successfully rolling out the Free SHS policy instead of wanting to lie his way to the presidency.

“I heard something yesterday that surprised me. The former President stated that my promise to start the free SHS policy was false and just a ploy to deceive Ghanaians.”

“He was strongly against the policy and stated that if he had the money to implement that policy, he will use it for something else. He also said it will take Ghana years to implement it but now he is saying he started the Free SHS, and it’s surprising.”

“It is unfair for the former President to try to become President using deception and lies. He has seen that his campaign is collapsing in confusion and fabrications, and so he is now using outright lies to try and amass votes.”

President Akufo-Addo urged the people of Odorkor to vote massively in his favour at the December 7 polls to ensure he continues with the good works.

The teeming crowd shouted: “4 MORE 4 NANA TO DO MORE.”
