You’ll fail if you sing for yourself – Daddy Lumba to musicians

Legendary highlife musician Charles Kwadwo Fosu known well as Daddy Lumba has disclosed to his fellow musicians some mistakes they make in their careers.

Daddy Lumba is one of the great legends who have graced the screens of television with his music videos and has been consistent in his career. He is one of the pioneers who built the foundation of highlife in the music space.

According to the music legend, doing music just to suit the personality and interest of the musician will cause the failure of the artist because most people will find it difficult to relate to the song and hence will not be accepted by most listeners.

The “Ofon Na 3di Asem Fo” hitmaker during an interview on his newly opened radio station DL FM, said anytime he is recording a song, he thinks about what people think about and how people relate to things before he wraps his songs up.

“And they (musicians) must listen carefully; if you are a musician who does music for yourself your music can’t be accepted by all. I think about what everyone is talking about. You must dive into people’s hearts and get to know exactly what they are saying. That is what I give to people”, he stressed.
