Ocala police are investigating a fatal car crash that killed a 14-year-old boy Monday evening.
Police said the crash happened along Northwest 42nd Street just after 6 p.m.
According to a police report, 14-year-old Javariy Wilson was driving his grandmother’s SUV west on Northwest 42nd Street, when he crossed into the eastbound lane before crossing back westbound.
Investigators say the SUV then became airborne and struck a pole, breaking the pole in half.
Witnesses reported seeing the car driving at a high rate of speed just before the crash.
