Member of Parliament for Dome Kwabenya constituency, Adwoa Safo has finally broken her silence on her long stay in the United States of America.
The Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection has been absent from Parliament for as long as Ghanaians can remember.
She become the topic for discussion in Parliament after she signed up on TikTok and started uploading videos while she laid the work of Parliament aside.
In an interview with Joy News on her recent invitation by the Privileges Committee of Parliament over her continued absenteeism from the House, Adwoa Safo explained why she has moved to the United States of America for the time being.
According to her, she is attending to her sick son who is based in the states and it is the reason why she has laid aside Parliament duties.
“As you know, my son has been unwell. That is why I had to come to the United States to be the best mother that I can be,” she said during the interview.

Her reason for absenting herself from Parliament while being paid huge sums of money as salary has angered Ghanaians who are suggesting that her comment is an insult to mothers who take care of their sick children and still go about their respective works.
Ghanaians on social media have slammed her for her reason which they have deemed as not tangible enough.
