Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the representative for North Tongu in the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has criticized President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for his recent remarks regarding the National Cathedral.
For a very long time, people have been debating whether or not the National Cathedral project is what the country needs right now.
The majority of Ghanaians contend that the government is instead concentrating on constructing a cathedral that would not benefit the country while people are in need.
He claimed that the project’s misplaced priority and procurement violations were unaddressed by the president.
The NDC MP claimed Nana Akufo-Addo insulted Ghanaians’ sensibilities with his remarks in a social media post.
“PRESIDENT AKUFO-ADDO DELIBERATELY FAILED TO ADDRESS THE REAL AND GERMANE CONCERNS OF THE GHANAIAN PEOPLE IN HIS LATEST RATHER OBFUSCATING AND OFFENSIVE SPEECH ON HIS INFAMOUS NATIONAL CATHEDRAL PROJECT.
THESE ARE THE FUNDAMENTAL ISSUES HE REFUSED TO ADDRESS”, he wrote.
Ghanaians will gain from the National Cathedral, according to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo.
According to the President, the National Cathedral will place God at the heart of efforts to create the nation and will offer an interdenominational venue for worship when it is finished.
Additionally, he claimed that it would give a largely Christian country—one in which more than seventy percent (70%) of the populace identify as Christians—an official place of worship for official events.
