Alfred Schreuder was born in the Netherlands on November 2, 1972. He used to play for 1899 Hoffenheim and is now their manager.

During his career, Schreuder played for the teams RKC Waalwijk, NAC Breda, Feyenoord, FC Twente, and Vitesse. In March 2008, he quit FC Twente and became an amateur player for SDV Barneveld.

After about three months, he went back to playing professional football when he signed a new one-year deal with Vitesse. In January 2009, he quit his job.

Schreuder got his first job as a manager as Vitesse’s assistant manager right after he retired. He became Steve McClaren’s assistant manager at FC Twente in the summer of 2009. McClaren gave his notice on February 26, 2013, and Schreuder was named interim manager.

Schreuder didn’t have the right credentials to be a manager yet, so in March 2013, the club made Michel Jansen the head coach and Schreuder his assistant. Schreuder trained for the UEFA Pro License, which he got in May 2014. During the 2013–14 season, this arrangement stayed the same.

After that, FC Twente made Schreuder their new manager and gave Jansen the job of being his assistant. Schreuder was fired on August 30, 2015, because in the first four games of the 2015–16 season, he had only one point.
