Andre Onana was unharmed in a car accident on his way to the team’s camp on Tuesday.
Andre Onana, a Cameroonian footballer for Ajax Amsterdam, was going from Yaounde to Douala when he was killed. The Cameroon Football Federation stated he had returned to the team in Douala and was “OK,” albeit he was due for a pre-hospital test.
France host Algeria in the first leg of their World Cup qualifier on Friday. The return match in Algeria is next Tuesday, and the winner will be one of five African nations qualified for the World Cup in Qatar.
CRTV broadcast images from the alleged accident site. a Range Rover SUV and another vehicle with their front end crushed in a head-on collision. Andre Onana, 25, was either a driver or a passenger in the Range Rover.
